About EU4Business Project

Overall, EUR 10 million is allocated as financial support to the private sector development in BIH.

Direct beneficiaries of the project are companies, farmers and entrepreneurs.

The EU4Business project will enable them to utilize their potential and achieve better competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets by helping financially and technically.

The financial support is available through grants in the following sectors/areas:

4.5 million is available to the export-oriented sectors - for individual companies and their development partnerships in order to improve innovative capacities and competitiveness.

EUR 1.5 million is available to the tourism sector – for the development of tourism products and better integration in the international markets.

EUR 3 million is available to the area of agri-food and rural development – for investment in farm holdings, processing and marketing of agricultural products and rural development.

EUR 1 million is available in the area of entrepreneurship - to promote the entrepreneurship and start-ups of young people and vulnerable groups.

The project has issued several public Calls for Proposals for individual businesses and farmers, as well as for development partnerships in tourism, agri-food and rural development and entrepreneurship. Most of these calls were issued in 2019. 

There are also capacity-building measures related to the improvement of business environment available for public institutions dealing with private sector development in BIH.

The EU4Business project is jointly implemented by GIZ, UNDP and ILO, from April 2018 to March 2022.

The total value of the project is EUR 16.1 million. The EU4Business project is jointly funded by the European Union (EUR 15 million) and the Federal Republic of Germany (EUR 1.1 million).
