Export-oriented sectors - Overview of investment projects funded by the European Union and the German Government

Within the new joint project of the European Union and the German Government – EU4BusinessRecovery, that helps businesses mitigate the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, GIZ has issued a public call for projects in the metal and wood-processing sectors.

More than EUR 4,2 million have been awarded in grants to projects that support the strengthening of competitiveness in the export-oriented sectors. 

10 development partnership projects were selected, as well as 24 projects related to improving the innovative capacities of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The projects were selected based on criteria from two public Call for Proposals published by EU4Business in 2019. The total value of the projects is more than EUR 7.1 million, including the applicants’ own investments.

  3. Better Surface Protection for Better Metal Products – BetMet; Metal and mechanical industry and ICT; Lead implementer: Entrepreneurship and Business Association LiNK, Mostar;
  4. EXPO-CERTinno – Supporting BH Companies in the Internationalization, Certification and Innovation; Metal and mechanical industry, wood processing sector and ICT; Lead implementer: Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo;

  9. Increasing Competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) through Digitalization - IC SMED; Metal and mechanical industry and ICT; Lead implementer: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering, University of Mostar;
  10. Providing Availability of Resources for Wood Processing Companies in Order to Increase Export through Creating a Focal Point in Prijedor Region – REPRO; Wood processing sector and ICT; Lead implementer: Agency for Economic Development of the City of Prijedor “PREDA-PD”, Prijedor.
